This is the recipe as I made it:
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 teasp ground cinnamon
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup craisins
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 teasp salt
1/2 cup honey
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teasp vanilla extract.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease a 9X13 pan.
2. In a large bowl, pour in the ingredients and mix well using your hands. Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
3. Bake for 17-18 minutes in the preheated oven, until the bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into bars while they are still warm.

I have been wanting a recipe like this for school lunches - thanks for sharing it.
Did they turn out chewy or crunchy?
If you take them out of the oven just as they are starting to brown around the edges, they will be very chewy.
